The RT Hon Graham Stuart will open this year´s Floating Wind Days together with the Norwegian Minister of Energy Terje Aasland.
Around 1000 visitors are expected to attend this year´s flagship event for the global floating wind industry, Floating Wind Days in Haugesund May 29-30. This annual gathering is organized by Norway´s largest industrial cluster, Norwegian Offshore Wind, counting close to 400 members.
Politicians from the top markets for floating wind have been invited to a political summit on Day 1 of the conference. UK is ranked as the number 1 market for floating wind, closely followed by Norway.
-It is important to discuss the development of this new industry in a geopolitical context. We are therefore very happy to have the energy ministers from the top markets present at this year´s event, says Festival Director Caroline Whittle.
Graham Stuart is a high profiled politician in Britain with a long track record within energy politics. He was appointed Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on 7 February 2023. He was previously Minister of State in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from 6 September 2022 to 7 February 2023.
-We have a strong focus on global policy development in this year´s programme. The industry in all the key markets is working tirelessly to influence the processes that will drive this development forward, says Whittle.
The First Minister of Scotland, Humza Yousaf, will also participate digitally at the conference in Haugesund. The programme features top level industrial speakers from all over the world, representing the biggest developers and the most influential supply chain companies.
