At the upcoming cluster meeting in Stavanger in January, the members of Norwegian Offshore Wind will elect a new Steering Committee. Now, the Nominating Committee’s recommendation is ready.

The proposed line-up combines continuity with renewal, introducing five new members who will strengthen the cluster’s strategic work during a period of rapid growth and expanding international opportunity.

The Steering Committee, which may include up to eleven representatives from across the cluster’s membership, is a central decision-making body. Following a comprehensive process with broad member involvement, the committee has put forward the following candidates:

If elected, the Steering Committee will consist of 36% women and will span the entire offshore wind value chain, from developers and technology leaders to suppliers and the maritime industry.

A Strong Line-up for a Rapidly Expanding Sector

According to Eli Wærum Rognerud, Chair of the Nominating Committee, the interest from highly qualified candidates has been overwhelming:

Norwegian Offshore Wind is doing tremendous work to promote Norwegian offshore wind players both domestically and internationally, and it has not been difficult to find excellent people who want to contribute. With this nomination, we are assembling a top-tier team.

She highlights that the committee, which also includes Roger Pedersen (Offshore Norway) and Trygve Meyer (Nordic Edge and NOW AS Board), deliberately sought a balance of established voices and fresh perspectives.

Major Industry Players Strengthen the Group

Rognerud emphasizes that welcoming several major industry names marks a significant step for the cluster:

It is particularly positive to see major players such as Aker Solutions, Fred Olsen Windcarrier, and the Wergeland Group joining the Steering Committee. These companies represent world-class Norwegian suppliers and maritime expertise. Not least, they are already generating strong international revenues in offshore wind and setting the pace for the industrial transformation ahead.

Formal Election in Early 2026

The recommended Steering Committee will be formally elected at the Offshore Wind Connect - Cluster Meeting 2026 in January, setting the stage for another year of strategic development, international positioning, and industrial collaboration.
