The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) is Norway's premier research institute in the firelds of water and the environment. We are experts in ecosystems in both marine and freshwater environments. We develop science-based knowledge and solutions to challenges related to the interaction between water and climate, the invironment, nature, people, resources and society. We have expertise in biodiversity, nature positive solutions such as nature-inclusive design of offshore wind farms and rewilding of harbours.
