Tuesday May 26th - Site Visit Day

Site Visit no. 1: Innovative and cost-effective IMR solutions for offshore wind
Join us to explore how inspection, maintenance and repair can be delivered in smarter, cleaner and more cost-efficient ways.

On the small island of Utsira, companies will share presentations and their experience regarding underwater and topside solutions, illustrating how new technology can improve reliability and reduce operational effort across the IMR scope, saving time and cost.

Utsira itself adds context to the day’s content. Located off the west coast of Norway, the island has the potential to become a purpose-built IMR hub. With space for on-island spare parts and rapid-response facilities, close proximity to offshore sites and a long maritime heritage, Utsira is a relevant setting for exploring how innovative solutions can advance IMR for offshore wind. Have a look at this video: https://youtu.be/dh_4UaC9zSo

The visit will offer insights and the opportunity to meet organisations shaping the next phase of offshore IMR operations.

  • Subsea and topside IMR solutions for offshore wind
  • The potential for Utsira as an IMR hub
  • international networking

Site Visit no. 2: Floating wind value chain in the harbour of Haugesund
Participants can join a site visit that brings the floating wind value chain to life with a boat trip in and around the city harbour and out to the historic island of Vibrandsøy.

We start on the water in the harbour, where developers and key companies in the Norwegian and international offshore wind supply chain will share concrete cases, lessons learned and what is coming next. Short, focused presentations and close-up site visits will give a clear picture of how projects move from concept to construction and operation.

  • After the harbour program, the tour continues by boat to Vibrandsøy. Here, participants will be welcomed for a guided historic tour of the island showing how the fishing, shipping activity and industry at Vibrandsøy helped shape Haugesund as a city – followed by good food, informal conversations and time to connect.
  • The tour is planned to end around 14:00, leaving enough time for participants to join the METCentre boat trip in the afternoon.
  • The visit will offer a mix of industrial insight, place-based storytelling and networking in a unique coastal setting.
  • Boat trip in and around the harbour of Haugesund
  • Presentations from developers and leading supply chain companies in floating offshore wind
  • Reflections on how Norwegian and international actors can collaborate on future projects
  • Guided historic tour at Vibrandsøy and Møllerfabrikken, focusing on how the island helped shape Haugesund as a city
  • Shared meal and informal networking in a unique coastal environment
  • Timed so that participants can also join the METCentre boat trip later in the afternoon

*Both site visit tours will correspond with the latest departure of the boat trip to the METCentre (which is included in the delegation ticket, but need to be ticked off when registering).
